Trojans A Trojan is a program that allows Hackers total and complete control of your computer, making viruses (Which simply destroy Data) look like child's play! Trojans have infected thousands of Home and Business computers. Warning: What seems like an innocent game or program can be a Hacker's back door into your computer! Always use caution when downloading a File from the Internet, a Chat program, or via your Email. Trojans can infect your computer in many ways. The most common way is to be sent you through an email message, or through a Chat program like Icq or Pirch. You can also receive a Trojan by downloading what appears to be an innocent game, program, an add-on/patch file, or what appears to be a picture file. Some infected Files, like those mentioned below, appear to work fine, but they also include a hidden Trojan. Other infected files appear to not work properly, but in reality are infected with a Trojan which becomes activated when you click on the infected file. If you have ever tried to install, run, or open a file that wouldn't open or apparently wouldn't work - BEWARE! A few examples of seemingly innocent games that work, but carry hidden Trojans, are "Whack-a-Mole", and "Pie Bill Gates". These Games work, but when clicked on, install a hidden Trojan that will load into memory every time you Boot your Computer! To date, there are numerous Trojans being innocently and unknowingly being passed from Friend to Friend by way of games and programs such as these. Hackers are just sitting back and waiting for you to log on the Internet for their fun to begin. When you go online, even if you have, password protected your computer or LAN, any hacker can still break into your computer if you have activated a Trojan in your Computer. When a hacker chooses to connect to your computer, he can do so without leaving a trace that he has ever been there! Hackers access home and business computers every day, using Trojan Control programs especially designed for this purpose. Once a hacker connects to your computer, he has access to any personal information you may have on your Computer, such as names, addresses, databases, credit card information, accounting records, email, source code, or personal information about yourself, your company, or your family that you would certainly not want made public! What you thought was private, can be an open book to any hacker. Many Trojan Control programs comes with a complete list of controls that allows Hackers to do just about anything on your computer that they want, just as if they were sitting in front of your computer! Most Trojans have the ability to infect your computer in different ways. Trojans allow the hacker to read your email, reboot your Windows, read, download, upload, or delete your files, print on your printer, open and close your programs, and run one of your programs on your computer - either in secret, or with you helplessly watching! The hacker can take complete control of your mouse, and can view your desktop, lock your keyboard, reboot your computer, exit Windows, start or close any program, download or delete files, and much more. The hacker can automatically be notified by e-mail of your new IP address and of the fact that you are on Internet. Current Trojans have a built in FTP file server. With ftp access, the hacker will be able to upload, download, or delete files on your computer. He can also run programs on your computer in stealth mode, or allow you to see! Every file on your computer is open for the hacker to view, download or delete. He can also upload the latest hacks or viruses into your computer. He can capture and view your screen, steal your various passwords, open and close your CDROM, open your Internet browser, and even load a Website of his choice for you. He can send you messages, and even turn off your Monitor or Computer! One type of Trojan, the Direct Sockets Trojan has a long list of the usual commands. One of the differences with this one is that commands have been added for all of the major chat clients, like Icq and Pirch. This Trojan will allow the hacker to use scripts to get information from chat rooms. It will allow the hacker to control your connection and even take complete control of the chat room in most cases. This Trojan also has much more advanced system controls then the other Trojans. It has its own file manager that will list all of your drives and let the hacker scroll through your drive real time just picking and choosing what he wants to view download or delete. It also has a Windows registry editor that will edit any area of the registry or search and find entries in seconds! This is one of the most powerful Trojans available! This Trojan is also a real Virus, in that it infects other files. The hacker can attach the Setup Trojan to the Setup.exe file of any program or game. Once you run the setup file for the application you are installing, the setup Trojan will make a share on your computer called C$. Once the Trojan creates the share it will also alter a few other system files and then install the real program. You will not notice that anything went wrong, the program that you installed works fine with no errors. Now that you have this hidden open share anyone can connect to your computer with one simple network command. You will not be able to notice that sharing has been turned on. You will be made to think that you are not sharing any drives and that sharing has been turned off on your system. With this false security the hacker will be able to come right into your system without the need of a password. Most of the other internet Trojans allow for this option to be added remote. The BO, or Back Orifice Trojan, has the ability to add hidden shares without the need of the setup Trojan, while others will let you upload the Trojan and install it with out your knowledge.
