Search Engine Ratings - 
    If you are serious about promoting your Web site, one concept you SHOULD pay serious attention to is your Search engine rating, or how often your Web site's listing is shown in the "Top 20" . 
   Search engines rate a Web site according to different methods.  Some rate according to "Link popularity", in other words, by how many other Web sites contain a link to your Web site, under the theory that the best web sites will have a lot of other web sites linking to them.
   Others rate according to how many times various  searches produce your listing, and how often people click on your Web site's link when listed.
   Some Search engines rate Web sites according to their Meta tag description and Title, while others rate according to how often your Keywords appear on a page.
   Be careful, as some things that will get you a higher rating on one Search engine, will get you banned on another!  This can make it difficult to achieve a high rating on all Search engines, and/or cause your listing to be dropped from their Database completely. ( We are still trying to get listed by Webcrawler again!)

   These Web sites will check your Web site's ratings with the various Search engines for you. Most provide a free basic service, in the hopes you will subscribe to their expanded paid services.
